1+1 OLP Card
OLP1+1: 1+1 Optical Line Protection Switch Card for STN6800-D16HE
OLP1+1 is an optical line protection switch card based on advanced optical switching technology. The main function is to automatically switch the optical transmission line from the master route to the alternative route instantly when the fiber breaks or the loss becomes larger. It can ensure the normal operation of the communication service and compressing the service recovery time from several hours to millisecond when the communication quality decreases or the service is interrupted.

Diagram
OLP1+1 configuration is shown in the following diagram, in which the optical signals are split into two with a ratio of 50:50 and transmitted through both main and standby routes at the same time. While for Rx, the optical signal with better quality will be selected when a fault is detected. The advantage of the OLP 1+1 system is faster recovering optical switching.
