After fierce competition, the Zhongshan Sino-Telecom Team representing Zhongshan Subdistrict and led by Sino-Telecom stood out from 36 participating teams with exceptional teamwork and tenacity, ultimately claiming the championship trophy.
As a key component of the Shanghai Ping Pong Carnival, the event aimed to select the highest-level amateur mixed team for Songjiang District while providing a prestigious platform for local table tennis enthusiasts to showcase their skills and connect with others through the sport. From May 16 to 17, over 300 amateur players from various subdistricts, towns, the Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shanghai universities, and social clubs gathered at the venue, engaging in spirited rallies and creating an electrifying atmosphere filled with cheers.

The competition adopted a standard professional mixed team format with two phases: group round-robin and knockout. The team contest was decided by a best-of-15 race to 8 wins. Each individual event, including mixed doubles and singles, followed a best-of-three format with 11 points per game. Matches were played in the fixed order of mixed doubles, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles, which tested players' personal skills, tactical lineups and overall team strength.
On the first day, the 36 teams were divided into several groups for round-robin matches. Players quickly found their rhythm, showcasing thrilling techniques such as reverse penhold backhand, chops, and loops. The Zhongshan Sino-Telecom Team demonstrated strong performance from the group stage, advancing smoothly with steady play.

Entering the knockout stage on the second day, during the critical semifinal and final matches, the Zhongshan Sino-Telecom Team players worked closely across mixed doubles, men's singles, and women's singles. With a well-balanced lineup and solid mental fortitude, they overcame their opponents in the final to claim the championship.

With the successful conclusion of the Songjiang District qualifier, the citywide stage of the Shanghai Ping Pong Carnival is about to begin in full swing. The passion for amateur table tennis is set to spread from Songjiang Gymnasium to an even broader arena.
