Let's first get acquainted with our important guest for today's discussion: the D16HE series. The D16HE series is a 200G/400G stackable wavelength division transmission platform by Sino-Telecom, boasting features such as high transmission capacity, compact size, low power consumption, and easy operation. It provides highly scalable, reliable, and secure connections for data center interconnects and new-generation metropolitan area network transmissions. The D16HE series is built on an open software architecture, offering various open interfaces for seamless integration into third-party comprehensive network management systems.

Background and Business Requirements

Our client required the transmission of 100GE and 10GE services between site A and site B, covering a considerable distance of 330 kilometers. To ensure stable and efficient data transmission, an optical amplifier relay point was set up in the middle.

 

Solution

To meet the client's business needs, we offered an efficient and reliable solution. We utilized the D16HE series to implement this Point-to-Point transmission. The D16HE series is a stackable DCI wavelength division transmission platform ideally suited for long-distance high-speed data transmission requirements. We selected both the D16HE I-type and D16HE-II-type to construct the solution, with D16HE I-type facilitating 200G transmission and D16HE-II-type providing more flexible configuration options.

 

Implementation

In this Point-to-Point application case, we utilized the D16HE I-type to enable two 100G services, delivering a total of 200G transmission bandwidth to the client. Additionally, by choosing the high-performance D16HE devices, the entire line required no dispersion compensation, resulting in a more stable data transmission with reduced data loss and interference caused by optical signal dispersion.
