TFF4 is a 4-channel add/drop board card for the STN6800-D16 platform from Sino-Telecom, which is used to add and drop one or more 100 GHz DWDM channels from the C-band into one or two optical fibers, while allowing the remaining wavelengths to bypass to the desired destination. Using DWDM technology can effectively add WDM capabilities to existing and new networks, and extend the transmission distance of optical signals.
By placing matched MUX/DeMUX units at each end of the optical link, multiple data channels can be combined and transmitted through a single-mode fiber trunk. The passive OADM module can add or remove up to 4 data channels at any point on the trunk.
The TFF4 card has a built-in VOA and supports extended cascading, with the EXP port used for docking during cascading.
